About the Event

SGLM's Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) & Case Discussion will be hosted online on Thursday, 2 July 2026, to propose amendments to our organisation's constitution.

The EGM will be followed by a Case Discussion led by SGLM President Dr. Miina Öhman, who will present the case of "High Stress, Chronic Jetlag and Rollercoaster Weight Gain." This compelling case was previously delivered at the Harvard Extension School's LM101 class, where Dr. Öhman was invited as a guest lecturer.

About the Speaker

Dr. Miina Öhman

Dr Miina Öhman, a physician-scientist and board-certified Lifestyle Medicine physician, is

the founding president of SGLM. With over 20 years of research in cardiometabolic diseases,

she focuses on translating Lifestyle Medicine into preventive healthcare and education.

Dr. Öhman has presented this case study as a guest lecturer at the Harvard Extension

School’s Lifestyle Medicine 101 course. The presentation highlights a critical, and often underappreciated, insight in health behaviour: even in highly disciplined individuals, metabolic health and weight management can become profoundly compromised when circadian rhythms are chronically disrupted and severe psychological stress is sustained. This case study offers a nuanced look at what nutrition (including ketogenic diet) and exercise can achieve and where they fall short, underscoring why all the six pillars of Lifestyle Medicine are essential for truly restoring and sustaining health, both physically and mentally.

This event is exclusively for SGLM members.
