About the Event
The presentation redefines dietary fiber from a simple digestion aid to a precision metabolic therapy crucial for reversing metabesity—a high-risk cluster of metabolic dysfunctions including obesity, Type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease that is driven in part by a modern "fiber gap". By strategically utilizing both soluble and fermentable fibers, patients can control weight, glucose, cholesterol and hypertension.
Dr Palma will also discuss her experience of bringing Culinary Medicine to medical school education and implementing Lifestyle Medicine to healthcare system at national level, as a pioneering Lifestyle Medicine leader in Asia.
Note: A recording of this talk will be available after the event exclusively for SGLM members.
