SINGAPORE, June 27, 2026 — The Singapore Society of Lifestyle Medicine (SGLM) and the Singapore Nutrition and Dietetics Association (SNDA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) establishing a framework for collaboration in education, research and professional practice across lifestyle medicine, nutrition and dietetics.
The agreement was signed by Dr Miina Öhman, President of SGLM, on April 29, 2026, and by Loh Win Nie, President of SNDA, on June 27, 2026.
Under the MOU, the two organisations will work together across four main areas:
Professional development and education — co-developing and co-hosting workshops,
webinars and conferences, supporting mutual accreditation of Continuing Professional
Education (CPE) and Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities, and facilitating cross-recognition of professional credit hours where applicable.
Research and knowledge exchange — encouraging joint research initiatives, facilitating the exchange of scientific knowledge and best practices, and supporting dissemination of research findings.
Community and public health initiatives — collaborating on public education campaigns, supporting community-based programs, and advocating for policies that integrate lifestyle medicine and nutrition.
Professional collaboration — encouraging networking between members, promoting
multidisciplinary approaches to care, and exploring joint committees or working groups.
Both parties have agreed to act in good faith, maintain open communication and designate liaison representatives to promote joint initiatives. Each organisation retains ownership of its own intellectual property, with joint materials to be governed by mutually agreed terms. The MOU does not create financial obligations; any financial commitments will be addressed in separate agreements. The MOU is valid for three years from the date of signing and may be terminated by either party with 30 days; written notice. It is governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore and reflects the mutual intentions of both parties rather than legally binding obligations, except where specified.
"This partnership marks a significant milestone in our commitment to promote holistic healthcare. By bridging the gap between clinical lifestyle medicine and evidence-based nutrition, we are equipping our healthcare professionals with a more comprehensive toolkit to tackle chronic disease and improve long-term patient health outcomes across Singapore" Dr Miina Öhman, President, SGLM
"This partnership reflects our shared commitment to advancing preventive health through
evidence-based nutrition and lifestyle medicine, while fostering greater synergy between dietitians, nutritionists and lifestyle medicine practitioners. Together, we look forward to strengthening professional education, knowledge exchange and creating meaningful opportunities for our members to learn and innovate and leveraging our collective expertise to improve the health and wellbeing of communities in Singapore.” Loh Win Nie, President, SNDA
